






Artist Statement
Yutavia George's current work explores identity and one's ever-changing environment. Her work is concerned with notations of time by mapping changes within the physical space. She manipulates various drawing media to convey physiological and psychological shifts caused by environmental changes. Her work seeks to reflect natures crucial impact on humans as sunlight can affect plant growth. She is concerned with temporal shifts of daylight. George often varies her process by working in series and creating drawing tools. While being influenced by a range of contemporary drawing
practitioners, Her drawings can seem stationary or sequential.

Biography
Yutavia George is an artist and educator. After earning a Bachelors of Art in art education from the University of the Bahamas, and a Masters of Fine Art in Drawing from Paris College of Art. George has participated in several Bahamian national art exhibitions, international showcases and has contributed to diverse artist-in-residence programs. Currently, Yutavia George lives and works between the United States, France and The Bahamas.
